My Cruise Journey
Read More...
Cruises are often labelled as boring or seen as something only older travellers would enjoy. More often than not, such views come from people who have yet to truly understand what a cruise holiday can offer. Once you choose a ship that suits your style and an itinerary that matches your interests, you may find yourself instantly captivated — starting with sailings from Hong Kong, and perhaps soon moving on to fly-cruise holidays departing from overseas.
Asuka Lam is a seasoned cruise traveller — in fact, a true cruise enthusiast. From sailing the world with his mother as a child to travelling today with fellow cruise lovers, he has built up years of knowledge and experience at sea. He can readily share the unique selling points of different cruise brands, as well as recommendations for a wide range of destinations and itineraries.
In this talk, he will begin from the perspective of cruises departing from Hong Kong, introducing a number of headline-making ships, their onboard facilities, itineraries, and the distinct character of each cruise brand. As an experienced cruiser, he is also very familiar with the world of fly-cruise travel. At this time of year, Mediterranean cruises are especially popular — but how do you choose the right one?
Join him as he explains why cruising can be one of the most comfortable and convenient ways to enjoy a holiday.

How to plan student study tours
Read More...
In the wave of whole-person learning, how can educators design an overseas study tour that combines academic learning, values education, and resilience training for students? Overseas field trips are often accompanied by budget constraints, environmental challenges, and safety risks, testing the wisdom and adaptability of frontline educators.
This sharing session will use the “Overseas Climbing Programme – Western Sichuan Study Tour” organised by Lok Sin Tong Wong Chung Ming Secondary School as a practical case study. Frontline teacher leaders will personally explain how, despite limited resources, they guided secondary school students to challenge the Dagu Glacier at an elevation of up to 4,860 metres and complete a 30-kilometre trek through Changping Valley in the Siguniang Mountains, transforming nature into a breathtaking “classroom beneath the snow-capped mountains.”

Oveseas Fishing
Read More...
Overseas fishing is far more than just a simple angling activity; it is a journey that combines adventure, cultural exchange, and the exploration of nature. To ensure a smooth and fulfilling experience, careful planning is essential. Above all, safety and preparation form the foundation of any successful trip. Before departure, it is important to understand the destination’s weather conditions, tidal patterns, and fishing environment, while also preparing suitable equipment and travel insurance to ensure peace of mind throughout the journey. In addition, thoughtful itinerary planning is equally important. Arrangements for transportation, accommodation, and fishing locations should be carefully organized to avoid unnecessary fatigue that may affect the overall fishing experience.
One of the greatest joys of overseas fishing lies in the challenge of targeting unique fish species from different regions. Every destination offers its own distinctive fishing culture and signature catches — such as black sea bream in Japan, barramundi in Southeast Asia, and trout in Northern Europe. Setting a clear target species not only gives the trip greater focus and purpose, but also builds anticipation and excitement, making every fishing adventure a truly memorable experience.

Yan's happy multi-generation travel tips
Read More...
With over 25 years of experience as a travel journalist, Yan enjoys travelling solo around the world just as much as spending precious time with her family.
Her husband is Malaysian, and as they live in Hong Kong, opportunities to gather with the extended family are few and far between. That makes every family trip especially meaningful. As the travel journalist in the family, Yan is usually the one entrusted with the research and itinerary planning for their group travels.
This May, she went on a family trip to Da Nang, Vietnam, with a party of 12 — including her husband, two brothers-in-law, her mother-in-law, and nieces and nephews ranging from four years old to their twenties. The scale of the trip was almost like organising a small tour group.
In this talk, Yan will share, in a relaxed and light-hearted way, her real-life experiences and practical tips for multi-generational travel. How do you strike a balance between different ages, energy levels and tastes — without wearing yourself out in the process?
From choosing accommodation and arranging transport, to handling everyday surprises such as children’s sudden mood swings or elderly family members needing extra rest, Yan will share the insights and amusing stories she has gathered over the years.

Why 2026 Is the Final Peak Year for the Northern Lights

There are many ways to chase the Northern Lights—from independent travel in Northern Europe to joining local tours. However, experiencing the Aurora from an Arctic cruise is arguably the most exceptional way to witness this natural wonder. With expert guides on board and the flexibility to navigate to optimal viewing locations, guests enjoy a significantly higher chance of clear sightings. Compared to land-based viewing, cruises also benefit from minimal light pollution, offering a clearer and more immersive Aurora experience.
