TKS Exhibition Services Ltd., the organizer of ITE Hong Kong which comprises of ITE and ITE MICE, acquired ITE that same year and held its first event in June 2005. Despite a short preparation time, ITE 2005 expanded from two to three halls due to strategic repositioning and service upgrades. In 2006, TKS launched ITE MICE, allowing ITE Hong Kong to use a total of four halls that year, and five halls across two floors in 2007. Since the 2009 edition, after the HKCEC expansion, ITE Hong Kong has utilized five halls on the same floor.
ITE 2024, the 38th edition since its launch, is also the 20th edition organized by TKS. Before TKS, ITE changed hands and was organized by three different organizers, one of which included several major Hong Kong travel agents. As a result, the period of ITE under TKS is now longer than all its previous organizers combined.
For many years, ITE was often the only travel fair in Hong Kong, whether for trade or the public. However, it has faced competition from leading organizers of international travel fairs from time to time.
TKS been organizing ITE for over 20 years. Mr. KS Tong, founder and managing director of TKS, graduated from the University of Hong Kong first with the degrees of BSC and some years later MBA.
