The annual ITE Hong Kong (ITE) was first launched some 40 years ago, making it one of Asia's earliest travel fairs. In its early years, ITE focused solely on leisure travel.

Before TKS took over, ITE had changed hands twice and was jointly owned by several major travel agents in Hong Kong for a number of years. TKS, the current organizer, acquired ITE in mid-2004 and held its first ITE (the 19th edition) in 2005.

Our Honor! Every edition of ITE organized by TKS has received a Message of Blessing from the Chief Executives of Hong Kong SAR.

In its first four years, TKS completely revamped ITE by: (a) expanding from 2 halls in 2004 to 5 in 2008 by bringing in more international and outside exhibitors; and (b) launching ITE MICE in 2006, among other initiatives. In subsequent years, TKS has maintained separate B2B and B2C days, programs, and promotions—filling its trade days with Asian travel professionals and its public days with frequent and affluent FIT travelers from the Greater Bay Area.

Amid social unrest, ITE2019 was held smoothly and reached a new height with over 650 exhibitors; however, COVID-19 forced the cancellation of ITE2020.

Nevertheless, live ITE editions have been held each year since 2021, all featuring exhibitors from outside Hong Kong and overseas, as well as separate trade and public days. In fact, ITE2024 had 85% of its 500 exhibitors and nearly half of its buyers and trade visitors coming from outside Hong Kong, while ITE2025 was officially named a MEGA EVENT by the government.

Celebrating its 40th Anniversary, ITE in 2026 managed to attract even more exhibitors, buyers, trade visitors, and public visitors—with over 90% of exhibitors and 50% of buyer-trade visitors coming from outside Hong Kong, despite the Middle East War and the expiry of government subsidies.

As a caring organizer, TKS froze space rental between 2019 and 2024 by sharing government subsidies, while implementing increases of around 2% for 2026 and 3% for 2027.. 

For the celebration, we featured the following Special Displays at ITE 2026, all of which were well received! Held in an area dubbed the "Time Tunnel," they included:

(1)  A brief timeline of ITE's 40-year history

(2)  "Tour Through 1936 Hong Kong" – using photos, maps, relics, and actual receipts, the display retraced the steps of a Belgian couple who visited Hong Kong in 1936.

(3) "Realizing Time Travel through AI Photo" – Visitors could have the AI-generated output photo with a selected background (say, the Peak from 50 years ago), with clothing also adjusted accordingly.
